Camilla ‘Milly’ Bloomquist was the first name and visionary behind Milly’s Pantry. After spending years in public health and as a school nurse and Board member for the Penn Yan Central School District she recognized the effects of poverty and the hunger needs of Yates County children.

Milly was presented with the 2011 Presidential Citizens Medal, by President Barack Obama. "They exemplify the best of what it means to be an American," Obama said;“You should be very proud of what you accomplished.” Our beloved Milly merely replies, “well, I’m not done yet!”
